Multi Programming and Time Sharing Security

Sunday, December 5, 2010

Deadlocks is one example that you may encounter in time sharing and multiprogramming. Deadlock is a situation where in two or more competing actions are each waiting for the other to finish, and thus neither ever does. Client applications using the database may require exclusive access to a table, and in order to gain exclusive access they ask for a lock. If one client application holds a lock on a table and attempts to obtain the lock on a second table that is already held by a second client application, this may lead to deadlock if the second application then attempts to obtain the lock that is held by the first application. Often, neither avoidance nor deadlock prevention may be used.
Instead deadlock detection and process restart are used by employing an algorithm that tracks resource allocation and process states, and rolls back and restarts one or more of the processes in order to remove the deadlock. Detecting a deadlock that has already occurred is easily possible since the resources that each process has locked and/or currently requested are known to the resource scheduler or OS.

Resource allocation another problem that you may encountered in the time sharing and multiprogramming environment. Resource allocation is used to assign the available resources in an economic way. It is part of resource management. In project management, resource allocation is the scheduling of activities and the resources required by those activities while taking into consideration both the resource availability and the project time.
Modern operating systems often provide users and applications with a virtual machine, an interface to the underlying hardware that makes it appear as though the user is the only user of the machine and it's hardware. With a single simple constraint, it determines the allocation of a fixed amount of resources to a given number of activities in order to achieve the most effective results. It may be viewed as a special case of the nonlinear programming or nonlinear integer programming problem.
We cannot ensure the same security between time-shared machine and dedicated machine. Because if we consider time-shared machine many user can access the files unlike the dedicate machine that only has one primary function or task like automobile might have an onboard computer that is dedicated solely to navigation. Also in time-shared machine a multitude of external users serving each rapidly and simultaneously and process many data.

Last meeting our group introduces our project proposal which is the “credit linker”. Since the proposal that we made was my idea then, that would be my business idea that I am going to introduce in this topic.

Credit linker is a kind of business wherein it deals on shopping online with a twist. This business targets those people that don’t have any credit card or someone who wants to buy something on the internet for just one time. This business serves as a middle man between the shopper and the online store. It doesn’t need huge amount to create this kind of business. How does this business works? The owner of the business does have a credit card (or any electronic card) wherein it is used to transact online for shopping. When someone had seen a product on the internet and they don’t have any source to buy the products online, then the costumer can go now on our office to buy the product. So, the owner will ask the costumer what does he wants to buy on the online shop. A computer with an internet connection is needed in order to see what the costumer wants to purchase online. When the costumer already done and find his product that he/ she want to purchased, he can now go to the business office in order to purchased the product online. In order to gain, the business will have an interest from the original product being purchased together with its shipping fee. The costumer must have a down payment first before his/ her product purchased will be confirmed. The customer will return again to the business office when his/ her order arrived already. The business also offers an online selling of product. How the online selling products do works? Well, when someone wants to sell something on the internet but don’t have any idea on how he will sell it, then the business will offer to post his/ her product online. The customer will bring the product to the business center and will make a fix price for his product. The business now will do the rest and the seller will just wait for a about fifteen days. While the product is still on auction, at the same time the product is also displayed on the office. Whenever there is a walk- in costumer he or she can buy the product that has been product directly to the office. The advantage of this is that it doesn’t need a shipping fee which can lessen the product cost compared to purchase it online. How does the business earn money on this? When the seller will give the business a fix cost of his product, the business will raise the value of the product in a reasonable price. For example:

Seller’s product cost:
Clothes- 500php
Cellphone-2500php
Business product cost:
Clothes- 650php
Cellphone-2700php
As we can see the differences between the seller cost and the business product cost is 150php then this shows that the business is earning .

Payment
Since it is online shopping, it does need an online payment from the name the best thing to be used is the credit card; however the are also alternative way to pay the transaction. This includes:
• Debit card
• Various types of electronic money
• Cash on delivery (C.O.D., offered by very few online stores)
• Cheque
• Wire transfer/delivery on payment
• Postal money order
• Reverse SMS billing to mobile phones
• Gift cards
• Direct debit in some countries
There are some instances that some sites will not allow international credit cards and billing address and shipping addresses have to be in the same country in which site does its business. Some of the sites allow customers from anywhere to send gifts anywhere. The financial part of a transaction might be processed in real time (for example, letting the consumer know their credit card was declined before they log off), or might be done later as part of the fulfilment process.

Delivery of the product
Once a payment has been accepted the goods or services can be delivered in the following ways.
• Download: This is the method often used for digital media products such as software, music, movies, or images.
• Shipping: The product is shipped to the business address and will contact the costumer if his/ her product already arrived.
• Drop shipping: The order is passed to the manufacturer or third-party distributor, who ships the item directly to the consumer, bypassing the retailer's physical location to save time, money, and space.
• In-store pickup: The business also offer in-store pick up. The customer orders online, finds a local store using locator software and picks the product up at the closest store.
In the case of buying an admission ticket one may get a code, or a ticket that can be printed out. At the premises it is made sure that the same right of admission is not used twice.

The Advantages of the Credit Linker Business

Convenience
Online stores are always available 24 hours a day, it is very easy for the costumer to search product he/ she want. The costumer can shop in his house if he/ she do have an internet connection. If the costumer doesn’t have any internet connection in his/her house, there are establishments such as internet cafes and schools that provides internet connection. A visit to a conventional retail store requires travel and must take place during business hours.

In the event of a problem with the item – it is not what the consumer ordered, or it is not what they expected – consumers are concerned with the ease with which they can return an item for the correct one or for a refund. Consumers may need to contact the retailer, visit the post office and pay return shipping, and then wait for a replacement or refund. Some online companies have more generous return policies to compensate for the traditional advantage of physical stores. For example, the online shoe retailer Zappos.com includes labels for free return shipping, and does not charge a restocking fee, even for returns which are not the result of merchant error.

Information and reviews
Most of online stores must describe their products for sale together with text, photos, and some includes multimedia files, unlike in a physical retail store, the actual product and the manufacturer's packaging will be available for direct inspection (which might involve a test drive, fitting, or other experimentation).
Some online stores provide or link to supplemental product information, such as instructions, safety procedures, demonstrations, or manufacturer specifications. Some provide background information, advice, or how-to guides designed to help consumers decide which product to buy.
Some stores even allow customers to comment or rate their items. There are also dedicated review sites that host user reviews for different products.
In a conventional retail store, clerks are generally available to answer questions. Some online stores have real-time chat features, but most rely on e-mail or phone calls to handle customer questions.
Price and selection
This would be the one advantage of shopping online where the customer will be able to quickly find out deals for items or services with many different vendors. Search engines, online price comparison services and discovery shopping engines can be used to look up sellers of a particular product or service.

Shipping costs (if applicable) reduce the price advantage of online merchandise, though depending on the jurisdiction, a lack of sales tax may compensate for this.
Shipping a small number of items, especially from another country, is much more expensive than making the larger shipments bricks-and-mortar retailers order. Some retailers (especially those selling small, high-value items like electronics) offer free shipping on sufficiently large orders.

Disadvantages of Credit Linker Business
Fraud and security concerns
This is very common problem especially when you are having transaction online. This has given the customer a lack of ability to inspect merchandise before purchasing the product. Consumers are at higher risk of fraud on the part of the merchant than in a physical store. Merchants also risk fraudulent purchases using stolen credit cards or fraudulent repudiation of the online purchase. With a warehouse instead of a retail storefront, merchants face less risk from physical theft. Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption has generally solved the problem of credit card numbers being intercepted in transit between the consumer and the merchant. Identity theft is still a concern for consumers when hackers break into a merchant's web site and steal names, addresses and credit card numbers. A number of high-profile break-ins in the 2000s has prompted some U.S. states to require disclosure to consumers when this happens. Computer security has thus become a major concern for merchants and e-commerce service providers, who deploy countermeasures such as firewalls and anti-virus software to protect their networks.
Phishing is another danger, where consumers are fooled into thinking they are dealing with a reputable retailer, when they have actually been manipulated into feeding private information to a system operated by a malicious party. Denial of service attacks are a minor risk for merchants, as are server and network outages.
Quality seals can be placed on the Shop web page if it has undergone an independent assessment and meets all requirements of the company issuing the seal. The purpose of these seals is to increase the confidence of the online shoppers; the existence of many different seals, or seals unfamiliar to consumers, may foil this effort to a certain extent. A number of resources offer advice on how consumers can protect themselves when using online retailer services.
These include:
• Sticking with known stores, or attempting to find independent consumer reviews of their experiences; also ensuring that there is comprehensive contact information on the website before using the service, and noting if the retailer has enrolled in industry oversight programs such as trust mark or trust seal.
• Before buying from a new company, evaluate the website by considering issues such as: the professionalism and user-friendliness of the site; whether or not the company lists a telephone number and/or street address along with e-contact information; whether a fair and reasonable refund and return policy is clearly stated; and whether there are hidden price inflators, such as excessive shipping and handling charges.
• Ensuring that the retailer has an acceptable privacy policy posted. For example note if the retailer does not explicitly state that it will not share private information with others without consent.
• Using strong passwords, without personal information. Another option is a "pass phrase," which might be something along the lines: "I shop 4 good a buy!!" These are difficult to hack, and provides a variety of upper, lower, and special characters and could be site specific and easy to remember.
Although the benefits of online shopping are considerable, when the process goes poorly it can create a thorny situation. A few problems that shoppers potentially face include identity theft, faulty products, and the accumulation of spy ware. Whenever you purchase a product, you are going to be required to put in your credit card information and billing/shipping address. If the website is not secure a customers information can be accessible to anyone who knows how to obtain it. Most large online corporations are inventing new ways to make fraud more difficult, however, the criminals are constantly responding to these developments with new ways to manipulate the system. Even though these efforts are making it easier to protect yourself online, it is a constant fight to maintain the lead. It is advisable to be aware of the most current technology and scams out there to fully protect yourself and your finances.
One of the hardest areas to deal with in online shopping is the delivery of the products. Most companies offer shipping insurance in case the product is lost or damaged; however, if the buyer opts not to purchase insurance on their products, they are generally out of luck. Some shipping companies will offer refunds or compensation for the damage, but it is up to their discretion if this will happen. It is important to realize that once the product leaves the hands of the seller, they have no responsibility (provided the product is what the buyer ordered and is in the specified condition)

Lack of full cost disclosure
The lack of full disclosure with regards to the total cost of purchase is one of the concerns of online shopping. While it may be easy to compare the base price of an item online, it may not be easy to see the total cost up front as additional fees such as shipping are often not be visible until the final step in the checkout process. The problem is especially evident with cross-border purchases, where the cost indicated at the final checkout screen may not include additional fees that must be paid upon delivery such as duties and brokerage. Some services such as the Canadian based Wishabi attempts to include estimates of these additional costs, but nevertheless, the lack of general full cost disclosure remains a concern.

Privacy
Privacy of personal information is a significant issue for some consumers. Different legal jurisdictions have different laws concerning consumer privacy, and different levels of enforcement. Many consumers wish to avoid spam and telemarketing which could result from supplying contact information to an online merchant. In response, many merchants promise not to use consumer information for these purposes, or provide a mechanism to opt-out of such contacts.
Many websites keep track of consumers shopping habits in order to suggest items and other websites to view. Brick-and-mortar stores also collect consumer information. Some ask for address and phone number at checkout, though consumers may refuse to provide it. Many larger stores use the address information encoded on consumers' credit cards (often without their knowledge) to add them to a catalog mailing list. This information is obviously not accessible to the merchant when paying in cash.

Product suitability
Many successful purely virtual companies deal with digital products, (including information storage, retrieval, and modification), music, movies, office supplies, education, communication, software, photography, and financial transactions. Other successful marketers use Drop shipping or affiliate marketing techniques to facilitate transactions of tangible goods without maintaining real inventory.
Some non-digital products have been more successful than others for online stores. Profitable items often have a high value-to-weight ratio, they may involve embarrassing purchases, they may typically go to people in remote locations, and they may have shut-ins as their typical purchasers.[citation needed] Items which can fit through a standard letterbox — such as music CDs, DVDs and books — are particularly suitable for a virtual marketer.
Products such as spare parts, both for consumer items like washing machines and for industrial equipment like centrifugal pumps, also seem good candidates for selling online. Retailers often need to order spare parts specially, since they typically do not stock them at consumer outlets—in such cases, e-commerce solutions in spares do not compete with retail stores, only with other ordering systems. A factor for success in this niche can consist of providing customers with exact, reliable information about which part number their particular version of a product needs, for example by providing parts lists keyed by serial number.[citation needed]
Products less suitable for e-commerce include products that have a low value-to-weight ratio, products that have a smell, taste, or touch component, products that need trial fittings — most notably clothing — and products where colour integrity appears important. Nonetheless, Tesco.com has had success delivering groceries in the UK, albeit that many of its goods are of a generic quality, and clothing sold through the internet is big business in the U.S. Also, the recycling program Cheapcycle sells goods over the internet, but avoids the low value-to-weight ratio problem by creating different groups for various regions, so that shipping costs remain low.

Consumer expectations
The main idea of online shopping is not in having a good looking website that could be listed in a lot of search engines and it is not about the art behind the site. It also is not only just about disseminating information, because it is all about building relationships and making money. Mostly, organizations try to adopt techniques of online shopping without understanding these techniques and/or without a sound business model. Rather than supporting the organization's culture and brand name, the website should satisfy consumer's expectations. A majority of consumers choose online shopping for faster and more efficient shopping experience. Many researchers notify that the uniqueness of the web has dissolved and the need for the design, which will be user centred, is very important. Companies should always remember that there are certain things, such as understanding the customer's wants and needs, living up to promises, never go out of style, because they give reason to come back. And the reason will stay if consumers always get what they expect. McDonaldization theory can be used in terms of online shopping, because online shopping is becoming more and more popular and website that wants to gain more shoppers will use four major principles of McDonaldization: efficiency, calculability, predictability and control.
Organizations, which want people to shop more online for them, should consume extensive amounts of time and money to define, design, develop, test, implement, and maintain website. Also if company wants their website to be popular among online shoppers it should leave the user with a positive impression about the organization, so consumers can get an impression that the company cares about them. The organization that wants to be acceptable in online shopping needs to remember, that it is easier to lose a customer then to gain one. Lots of researchers state that even when site was a "top-rated", it would go nowhere if the organization failed to live up to common etiquette, such as returning e-mails in a timely fashion, notifying customers of problems, being honest, and being good stewards of the customers' data. Organizations that want to keep their customers or gain new ones try to get rid of all mistakes and be more appealing to be more desirable for online shoppers. And this is why many designers of webshops considered research outcomes concerning consumer expectations. Research conducted by Elliot and Fowell (2000) revealed satisfactory and unsatisfactory customer experiences.

Aggregation
High-volume websites, such as Yahoo!, Amazon.com and eBay, offer hosting services for online stores to small retailers. These stores are presented within an integrated navigation framework. Collections of online stores are sometimes known as virtual shopping malls or online marketplaces.
Become.com is a product price comparison service and discovery shopping search engine with a mission to help shoppers make ideal buying decisions. Dulance was a price engine that specialized in searching for hard-to-find products often sold by small independent online retailers ("The Long Tail"). Mysupermarket aggregates inventory from the UK's four leading online groceries for shoppers to compare supermarket prices.
Many companies that don't have internal resources or expertise (such as do-it-yourself-ers) work with a web development firm to handle all or some of the facets of the online shopping set-up, including integration of the e-commerce platform and hosting. Full service digital companies can design, develop and set-up ecommerce sites so that they're up and running with existing merchant accounts or new ones."

Asignment No. 4

The commencement speech of Steve Jobs focuses on his story in life together with his success and failure. Jobs really have a great story in life. Even he was successful but he was been undergone failure but still, he strive to achieve the dreams again. I learned many lesson while I was reading the speech. It was such a nice speech that I have ever read. These are the lessons that I had learned:

Exclamation Reach for your dreams. When you fail in your career, do not stop. Reach for your dreams again and make sure that you already know what to do and become a successful one. No matter what happen, just keep reaching it. I do believe that people will not be dreaming of those things which they know that they can’t do it. Everything that we dream for are possible. You just only need to discover yourself and find ways on how to make your dreams come true. Everybody wants to be happy, and in order to be happy you must achieve your dreams even it is simple.
Don’t make your failure be a hindrance for success. When failure strike at you, don’t make this as a hindrance for your success, instead make this as an inspiration to reach your dreams and goals in life. You already know what to do to face this failure. Like Steve Jobs, was been a drop out in college but he didn’t serve this as a failure instead he made this as a great history to his life that changes his whole life. Everytime you have a failure, a new opportunity awaits you. That’s why you should see it as a hindrance but see it as a way to make a new opportunity in life.

Exclamation Always be prepared and ready. As what have Steve Jobs said, “No one wants to die”. Yes, all of us in here do not really want to die, but just want to be prepared before they die. Just think that this would be the last day of your life. I am also prepared now if this thing would happen to me, but I don’t want to die. I need to show the things to my love ones that I really love them. For me, its not yet enough, what I am showing to them. But still I am trying to show the best that I can.

Exclamation Keep Believing. Always believe in yourself. Love the things that you have done, no other people knows know you but only yourself, that’s why you should believe that you can achieve your dreams in life. Be strong to face the challenges that come in your life. Who knows, you will be the one of the successful and famous man. It’s not the matter of how many failures that you have but it’s the matter of success that you achieve. Steve Jobs also failed even he is in his highest point of success. But still he believes in his self. He achieves his dreams already, and it’s easy for him to achieve his success in his new beginning of life.

Exclamation Never surrender. Why should you surrender in the trials that you have? Surrendering is not an option it’s a matter of choice. If you choose to surrender, it means that you do not believe yourself. Never surrender. Everything is possible and you should not surrender for it is possible to achieve your dreams and goals in life. If you already enter in that situation, you know that you can do it. If you surrender, you’re like saying that your dreams are impossible to achieve. There’s a time to surrender, but as long as you can keep yourself never to surrender, go for it.

Exclamation Strive hard. All of the things that you have can’t only achieve in just a blink of an eye, but you should strive for it. Every hard works do have an exchange of a good thing. Think of all those things that you know would have a great benefit in you. Just consider Steve Jobs, he strives hard. He didn't have a dorm room, and just slept on the floor in his friends' rooms. He just returned coke bottles for the five cent deposits to buy food with, and he would walk the seven miles across town every Sunday night to get one good meal a week at the Hare Krishna temple. This only means that he works hard in order to live to the fullest.

Exclamation Time is limited. Yes, it’s true that time is limited; you would not know that today or just an hour or maybe just a couple of minutes your life will be lost. That’s why you should live in order to make yourself satisfy. Steve Jobs said “So don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma -- which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

Exclamation Love Your Work as You Love Yourself. Your work play a significant role in your life. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the way to make it satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And to make your work to be great, the only thing that you must do is to love it. Just keep looking on this work where you will love it. It is really important that you will be able to make your work a good start for your success. The speech of Steve Jobs that make me realize to love a work is “And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking -- and don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking -- don't settle.”
Exclamation

Asignment No. 3

My new purpose after our facilitator get all my current purpose in life is:

-To create a business where it could lead become to be a famous technoprenuer and to assist other on thier business during thier first year of the industry.

Asignment No. 2

Last Wednesday we had our preliminary examination. I didn’t expect that we have an examination since our professor told us that he don’t give any examination during prelim. I was shocked since I don’t study that subject and I don’t have any notes on the all the lesson of the subject. I thought that it’s just a typical examination where our professor will give us a question on the lesson that we discuss but he give us a PT test or Personal Trait Exam. The choices were just A and B but the choices are situation where it fits our personality. The personality trait test determines if we are capable of becoming a technoprenuer. Some of the choices there are some of the traits of a good technoprenuer. After I had answered all the question of the PT examination we evaluate our answer. We got our score depending on the choices that we choice and every choice corresponds a score of 0, 1, or 2. After I total all the score, I got a score of 42. This only signifies that I have the traits and attitude to become a technoprenuer where the score ranges from 38-44, has the capable or somewhat a technoprenuer. All of my classmate also fall in this range and this only signifies that we are capable to become a technoprenuer. I found out that in order to become a good technoprenuer there are traits that you must have in order to become successful. These are the traits that I think you must have to become a successful technoprenuer:

Physically fit and in good health. Since you are having your own business you must work long hours for extended periods of time. How can you handle your business if you are not physically fit? That’s why you must have this trait in order that you have energy to face the people around you as healthy mind in order to think wisely and properly. Also when you get sick, you can recover quickly.
Need to Control and Direct. They prefer environments where they have maximum authority and responsibility and do not work well in traditionally structured organizations. This is not about power, though. Technopreneurs have a need to create and achieve by having control over events.
Self Confidence. Findings showed that as long as entrepreneurs were in control, they were relentless in pursuit of their goals. If they lost control, they quickly lost interest in the undertaking. Confidence is also important especially in handling tough decision. You must be confident on the decision that you made since it is in your hand the future of the company. In communicating and selling your products to the costumer self confidence is necessary so that you can have a good offer to them.
Sense of Urgency. You must have a never-ending sense of urgency to do something. This corresponds with a high energy level. Many enjoy individual sports rather than team sports. Inactivity makes you impatient. That’s why it is also necessary that you will have a team building on your employees so that you can be closer to each other and would understand each other which would make a good team in business.
Comprehensive Awareness. They have a comprehensive awareness of a total situation and are aware of all the ramifications as an act of branching out or dividing into branches involved in a decision. Sometimes in decision making, you must be aware of everything around you. You must consider what would be the effect of your company in the society or it would be a good kind of business that you will establish.
Realistic Outlook. There is a constant need to know the status of things. They may or may not be idealistic, but they are honest and straightforward and expect others to be the same. You must look and think realistic. Think of the things that will give a great impact on the progress and success of the business.
Conceptual Ability. They have superior conceptual abilities. This helps technopreneurs identify relationships in complex situations. Chaos does not bother them because they can conceptualize order. Problems are quickly identified and solutions offered. The drawback is that this may not translate well to interpersonal problems.
Objective Approach. You must take an objective approach to personal relationships and are more concerned with the performance and accomplishment of others than with feelings. You should keep the distance psychologically and concentrate on the effectiveness of operations. You must maintain and achieve your objective in your business. This will urge you to work more and do better on the business. You must also consider that in a business an objective is the goal of your company. This will enable you to know what are the achievements that you achieve on the business
Emotional Stability. They you must handle stress from business and from personal areas in your lives. Setbacks are seen as challenges and do not become discourage of it. Since you are the manager of your own company or business usually you go on a stressful event but you must handle it. There are some instances that you have a personal problem in your life, that’s why you must not add this element in your business but stay this problem in your personal life. Do not mix your business problem and your personal problem since it could be hard for you to solve these problems. If you have a problems in your business you must solve it not thinking on your personal life.
Attraction to Challenges. You must attract to challenges but not to risks. It may look like you are taking high risks, but in actuality you have assessed the risks thoroughly. There are some instances that you may undergo challenges, don’t think it negative but take it on a positive side this would help you in order that you will be able to know how to solve problems if you will encounter a problem in your business even if it is small or big.

I also answered the Intelligent Quotient Exam or the IQ Test. Intelligence quotient, or IQ, is a score derived from one of several different standardized tests designed to assess intelligence.
I get my IQ test from http//www.iqtest.com. These are the sample question that I answered with just true and false answer:
1. The word, "mineral," can be spelled using only the letters found in the word, "parliament."
2. This sequence of four words, "triangle, glove, clock, bicycle," corresponds to this sequence of numbers "3, 5, 12, 2."
3. 27 minutes before 7 o'clock is 33 minutes past 5 o'clock.
4. The word, "slackers," is spelled by using the first letters of the words in the following sentence: "Silent large anteaters calmly kiss each roasted snack."
5. If written backwards, the number, "one thousand, one hundred twenty-five," would be written "five thousand, two hundred eleven." ….
My general IQ score is 108. How did they compute my IQ Score? Instead of giving a person’s performance on the Stanford-Binet as a mental age, Terman converted performance into a single score, which he called the intelligence quotient, or IQ. A quotient is the number that results from dividing one number by another. The idea of an intelligence quotient was first suggested by German psychologist, William Stern, in 1912. To compute IQ, Stern divided mental age by the actual, chronological age of the person taking the test and then multiplied by 100 to get rid of the decimal point. So, a child who was eight years old and answered the test questions as well as a twelve-year-old scored an intelligence quotient of 12/8 x 100, or 150. A twelve-year-old who answered the test questions as well as an average eight-year-old would have an IQ of 8/12 x 100, or 66.
This formula works well for comparing children, but since intelligence levels off in adulthood, it is not appropriate for adults. A thirty-year-old who answers questions as well as an average twenty-year-old would have an IQ of only 20/30 x 100, or 66.
When I search on the internet on how to interpret the result, this was what I research: The average IQ score is 100. The standard deviation of IQ scores is 15. So, this means:
• 50% of people have IQ scores between 90 and 110
• 2.5% of people are very superior in intelligence (over 130)
• 2.5% of people are mentally deficient / impaired / retarded (under 70)
• 0.5% of people are near genius or genius (over 140)
This only signifies that the score that I got which is 108 fall between normal intelligence. It only means that I have a normal intelligent where I cant think properly without any mental disabilities. This are the things that you must remember if you will take an IQ test:
• You must work mentally. Do not use pencil or paper during this test.
• Be ready to determine whether the statements that follow are true or false. You will have to click either a true or a false button to indicate your response.
• If you average more than twenty seconds to respond to each of the questions, your IQ Score will be lower.

The next one that I answered is the EQ test. Emotional Quotient intelligence (EQ-I) describes the ability, capacity, skill or, in the case of the trait EI model, a self-perceived grand ability to identify, assess, manage and control the emotions of one's self, of others, and of groups.
Leadership and EQ findings:
•Leaders possessing Emotional Intelligence will create an effective work climate that will further develop emotional intelligence at the subordinate level.
•The higher the level of a job’s complexity and authority, the greater the impact of high Emotional Intelligence.
Emotional Intelligence is twice as important as IQ plus technical skills in predicting success in the workplace. roadly speaking, is concerned with understanding oneself and others, relating to people, and adapting to and coping with one's immediate surroundings. Being smart (traditional IQ) isn't enough. One must learn how to appropriately manage the social and emotional demands life places on you. A "non-cognitive" factors are better predictors of success and satisfaction in life. Failure to adapt socially and emotionally to surroundings is a leading cause of career derailment.
The Score that I got in the EQ test is 38. The interpretation of this is that:
You are likely sensitive to the emotional climate of the people around you – your peers, friends, family and key clients. You are well aware of the effect your behaviour has on others. Still, while you may be adept at tuning into others and their needs – you must remember your own! Don’t be afraid to honestly communicate these difficult needs and feelings. The world is well stocked with martyrs – it doesn’t need any more! Think also about your passion for work (or whatever constitutes your main roles in life – manager of people, doer of tasks, ‘meeter’ of clients’ needs, etc). We spend countless hours in our given roles – sometimes without much joy or satisfaction. In the process we become tranquilized by the trivial. Sedated by the small details of life. Sure, the laundry needs doing, the groceries need getting, the kids need chauffeuring, the deadlines must be met, but we also need to stop and remember what gives us great joy and meaning. If we fail to remind ourselves (on a regular basis), we risk becoming hostile and cynical. We lose our purpose. And this translates to a diminished ability to be effective, at ease and fulfilled. Areas to work on: Ask yourself: If you work on gaining clarity in these areas, you will move toward maximizing your full potential and finding greater effectiveness, happiness, and fulfillment in your life. They make use of a very small portion of their possible consciousness, much like a man who, out of his whole body organism, should get into the habit of using and moving only his little finger… We all have reservoirs of life to draw upon, of which we do not dream.

After watching the movie "Pirates of the Silicon Valley",

1. What are the factors that contributed to the success and failure of Steve Jobs as a technopreneur?
2. How do you see yourself as a technopreneur?
3. Would you take the same career path that Steve Jobs took? Why or why not?

note: at least 1000 words for every question.....

1. Let me first discuss and summarize the movie. The film, Pirates of the Silicon Valley is about the beginning of Apple and Microsoft. Steve Jobs' Apple is birthed out of Berkley in the days of beards and love beads. Jobs together with his buddy Steve Wozniak created a small computer they've invented which is causing a lot of excitement. The little computers that they create were a boom. They get many orders and earn lots of money. When they already have enough money to establish a company, they created the Apple Company which is a booming company. On the other hand Bill Gates also create an operating system and they licensed their Disk Operating System to IBM. Soon they're making a lot of money, but not as much as Apple. Apple Company steals the graphical user interface of the Xerox’s Company. But later on the Microsoft also steal the Graphical User Interface of Apple. After seeing the seeing the film, we saw the success and failure of Steve Job as Technoprenuer.

SUCCESS
There were many factors that affects on how he succeed and failed in his field. These factors are:
Good Communication Skills. A good communication skill is a skill where in communicate and deliver a message to others effectively. This skill is the one most important that anyone must have especially if you are making a business. We can see that Steve Job uses his good communication skill in order to deliver and introduce his work. He prepares carefully on what he wants to deliver to the people. Even he is prepare everytime he do have a conversation, but still he looks natural as if he is just having a conversation. It is not important that there should be a formal conversation, but the most important thing is that you deliver clearly the message you want to imply and the person you are communicating understand what you are saying.
Charisma. Steve Jobs is being famous n how he give speeches and get the attention of his audience. Steve Jobs is indeed a best speaker with a mysterious ability to make his employees and his audience to leave speechless with his convincing delivery. It enables him to beat up the eagerness of his employees to achieve more like dong an impossible task. He also easily convinces the customers to buy Apple products.
Enthusiasm. As a technoprenuer a very important thing that you consider is that you should have an interest in the business that you are entered. Like Steve Jobs, he is interested in computers and technology. This would make a great factor in order that you can make your company become successful. Everytime you have interest on a certain thing, you are eager to learn.
Extraversion. Steve Jobs easily expresses his emotions. He is not drained by social interaction, even though there are problems that he encounters still he smiles a lot and always believes that most people like him. Since he is the employer he likes to lead his business.
Assertiveness. The description of how he runs meetings and the aggression with which he motivates his employees speaks for a high degree of assertiveness.
Knowledge

This aspect is important, Even Steve Jobs was a drop out but I can say the he has knowledge. It is not necessary that you should go into a formal school in order to gain knowledge but it’s just a way in order that you gain more knowledge and understand it well. Steve Jobs was able to perform well in his chosen field especially this field requires a great knowledge in order to understand all of the technology. To define what knowledge should acquire to be capable in this field. However it can be acquired and improved from work experience and practical training. The most effective form of skill building is through practical exercises.

Failure
Even Steve Jobs is successful on what have now, but still, he was also failed. These are the reason why Steve Jobs was failed before.
Personal Life. As a business man you should bear in mind that you should separate your personal life into business. As what they say that business is business. Then you should not put your personal life in your business. It will just put you in a tough decision. Like Steve Jobs, he put his personal life in business.
Easily Trust. Trust important in business, but on the part of Steve Jobs he easily trusted Bill Gates even he already knows that Bill Gates had a plan on getting his idea.
Temperamental Manager. Steve Jobs employee is describing him in this manner. Being a short tempered person you will easily get angered. In the field of business it is necessary that you should have patience. When you don’t have patience like Steve Jobs, you are easily got angered on just a little mistake. On the video, Pirates of the Silicon Valley, we see that Steve Jobs always scolding his workers and employee that create a protest against him.
Erratic. Steve Jobs should focus on improving his erratic attitude. He does not maintain an even keel nor react even a situation is flowing without thinking about his reactions affect other people.

I think there is some truth to what Wright is saying here—everything that Jobs has ever done in his career has suggested that he loves great products more than market share. (Though I'm sure he's happier with both.) But I think there is another factor here worth considering.
I'm not so sure that Jobs thinks his Macintosh strategy failed. I think the way Jobs looks at it is this: he built a beautiful, revolutionary machine in the Macintosh, attracted incredible hype for it and passionate early adopters.

And then he got fired.
I'm sure somewhere in Jobs' head he thinks that if he had been running Apple instead of John Sculley, the Mac could have out-innovated and out-marketed Microsoft through the late eighties and early nineties, and kept Windows from dominating the planet. In other words, it wasn't that Apple erred in following the closed platform strategy. They erred in that they had the wrong guy running the company. That may well be delusional, but the fact that AAPL now has a larger market cap than MSFT, twelve years after Jobs' return to Apple, has to give one pause. So in Jobs' mind, I suspect it's not that he's making the same mistake all over again. Instead, he's proving that his original decision wasn't a mistake in the first place.

2. I can see my self as a technoprenuer that I will be successful if I will enter in this kind of business. When I was a child, I am already a business minded person. Honestly, I together with my sisters and brother established a just a small business where we sell vegetables and spices since my grandfather do have a small farm. I can say that it’s not a failure but it just so happen that we did not pursue it because we were still studying at that time and we cannot focus on our little business. This is just my first time to hear the world technoprenuership. I was right that it is somewhat related to entrepreneurship but the difference is that the business that your going to establish is much focused on Technology. I was interested in this kind of subject. Indeed it would fit me because I was really planning to establish a business of my own. I don’t want to be an employee on a certain company because I don’t want that someone will tell me that I should to those things.

Since I am undergoing in the subject technoprenuership this would enhance my skills and would much understand more about business about technology which also fits my course.

I want to be rich. Someone told me that it is not enough that you should only be an employee of a certain company. No one has been rich because of being an employee. The salary that you have is just enough to support your needs like food and other expenses. Unlike establishing your own company, you can do what ever you want to do in your company. No one can dictate you what you should do since you are the owner of it.

Technoprenuership is the key to earn money through technology. Technoprenuership is about technology and entrepreneurship, where it means business. People are really struggling for survival but they don't know that the stuffs that could save them from annihilation and broke just beside them. One example of being and technoprenuer is by blogging. Yes it only beside on you, you only need a computer and an internet connection.
In technoprenuership there are also fields on it. You will be the one to choose on what you would like to do in this kind of business. For me, I can say that I will be successful in terns of blogging. As of now I’m starting now to create a blog site. I cannot say that it is not yet successful but I’m earning from it. This would be the start of my journey of being a technoprenuer.

As of now people get higher income when they come in technoprenuership. But worst of it is that lots of people don't see this stuff and have no plan for their future to be a technoprenuer. But first thing's first, There are lots of offers in the internet, ranging from advertising to affiliate business to freelance writing and now how could you say it's impossible to do. Many wise people say, "Whether you think you can or you think you cannot, either way you're right." There are many opportunities in the internet that you could earn from. Or you would use anything that is a masterpiece of technology.
On the other side, technoprenuership does not only deal on having business on the internet. I can also establish a company that focuses on the hardware or on the new device. Services will also be a good start. You don’t need a much bigger capital in order to start up this business. Just your skills and talent is needed in order to start this business.
Technoprenuership encompasses not only technology organizations but also organizations that embrace technology significantly and it seeks to promote creativity and innovations within organizations and organizations as entities. Various programmes and initiatives which you can find in this website are undertaken to crystallize the vision into reality. I can build my own company and have many loyal employees.
The only constant in life is change. Nothing stands still. Life is dynamic and not static. Yet there are those of us who, through an exercise in futility, will seek to find security in an inexistent status quo.

I can also say that I will undergo some challenges to become a successful technoprenuer. I can say this when it comes to money. Even though you only have a small business but still money is involve. Being a technoprenuer takes a lot of determination and patience in order to become one. However, even though I’m still in the stage of learning, I can say that I have the potential and capacity of becoming a successful technoprenuer.

I have observed that technoprenuership now is booming and have brought and encounter new challenges. This is starting to increase of globalization, the advocates of information technology that concerns in implementing in the field of technoprenuership. Thus, this would broaden the competition among all other IT professionals in the next decade.

I really dream to be manager and manage people. I want it because I do want to contribute to the success of the company. You might say that even a simple employee can contribute to that success but the level of contribution really matters. That’s what I believe. I want to provide jobs to the needy and equip them with the proper training needed. I also want to implement a reward system that would motivate the employees to work hard and eager to contribute to the company’s success.

For the growth of the company, I with my co-decision makers should foresee the possible demands of the clients and the possible changes. On the other hand, the company’s equity should allot a budget for our own foundation or encourage our employees to give some of to the existing foundations. I would be a successful technoprenuer to a manager of the company and provide the employees and the company itself the necessary solutions for the crucial problems and situations.

3. Everyone us has the right to choose what path that we should take. You can be a technoprenuer or you can be a just a simple employee and receiving salary every month. Following the path of Steve Job would be great if oyu want to be a technoprenuer especially when you want to become successful. Even though Steve Jobs was been failed but considering on his success, he has a good path to success. He is a good business man. If you know Steve Jobs, he is really a successful technoprenuer. Even he failed but still he never gives up and takes a risk in order to be successful again.

I would like to be like Steve Job who will take risk just to get what he wants. He never quits. I will follow Steve Jobs especially in business talking. He knows what to do. He does have a good communication skills that make those people to be convince.

As of October 2009, Jobs owns 5.426 million shares of Apple, most of which was granted in 2003 when Jobs was given 10 million shares. He also owns 138 million shares of Disney, which he received in exchange for Disney's acquisition of Pixar.
In 2001, Steve Jobs was granted stock options in the amount of 7.5 million shares of Apple with an exercise price of $18.30, which allegedly should have been $21.10, thereby incurring taxable income of $20,000,000 that he did not report as income. This indicated backdating. Apple overstated its earnings by that same amount. If found liable, Jobs might have faced a number of criminal charges and civil penalties. Apple claimed that the options were originally granted at a special board meeting that may never have taken place. Furthermore, the investigation is focusing on false dating of the options resulting in a retroactive $20 million increase in the exercise price. The case is the subject of active criminal and civil government investigations, though an independent internal Apple investigation completed on December 29, 2006 found that Jobs was unaware of these issues and that the options granted to him were returned without being exercised in 2003.On July 1, 2008 a $7 billion class action suit was filed against several members of the Apple Board of Directors for revenue lost due to the alleged securities fraud.

As we can see Steve does have a huge income. It’s because of his hardships. That’s the attitude that I would like to have. Steve also has an attitude of being a short tempered person. For me, I don’t want to follow on how he handles his employees. I prefer to make them close to me. In that case I can easily asked them if what are the problems that that have in my company.

These four words represent an entire philosophy for a successful life. They mean that, if we want a successful, rewarding and interesting life, we should be in the parade and not watching the parade go by.

The only constant in life is change. Nothing stands still. Life is dynamic and not static. Yet there are those of us who, through an exercise in futility, will seek to find security in an inexistent status quo.

Don't make waves, don't try anything and keep a low profile attitude is a recipe for boredom in the best case scenario and for disaster in the worst cases. Trying to stand still in life is impossibility and can only result in frustration, regression and ultimate failure.

Do what you love to do. Find your true passion. Do what you love to do a make a difference! The only way to do great work is to love what you do.

The Power of Passion
Be different. Think different. "Better be a pirate than to join the navy."

Do your best. Do your best at every job. No sleep! Success generates more success. So be hungry for it. Hire good people with passion for excellence.

Make SWOT analysis. As soon as you join/start a company, make a list of strengths and weaknesses of yourself and your company on a piece of paper. Don't hesitate in throwing bad apples out of the company.

Be entrepreneurial. Look for the next big thing. Find a set of ideas that need to be quickly and decisively acted upon and jump through that window. Sometimes the first step is the hardest one. Just take it! Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.

Entrepreneurial Leader: 4 Specific Attributes
Start small, think big. Don't worry about too many things at once. Take a handful of simple things to begin with, and then progress to more complex ones. Think about not just tomorrow, but the future. "I want to put a ding in the universe,” reveal Steve Jobs his dream.

Strive to become a market leader. Own and control the primary technology in everything you do. If there's a better technology available, use it no matter if anyone else is not using it. Be the first, and make it an industry standard.

3 Strategies of Market Leaders
Focus on the outcome. People judge you by your performance, so focus on the outcome. Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren't used to an environment where excellence is expected. Advertise. If they don't know it, they won't buy your product. Pay attention to design. "We made the buttons on the screen look so good you'll want to lick them." "Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works."

Ask for feedback. Ask for feedback from people with diverse backgrounds. Each one will tell you one useful thing. If you're at the top of the chain, sometimes people won't give you honest feedback because they're afraid. In this case, disguise yourself, or get feedback from other sources. Focus on those who will use your product – listen to your customers first.

Innovate. Innovation distinguishes a leader from a follower. Delegate, let other top executives do 50% of your routine work to be able to spend 50% your time on the new stuff. Say no to 1,000 things to make sure you don't get on the wrong track or try to do too much. Concentrate on really important creations and radical innovation. Hire people who want to make the best things in the world. You need a very product-oriented culture, even in a technology company. Lots of companies have tons of great engineers and smart people. But ultimately, there needs to be some gravitational force that pulls it all together.

Learn from failures. Sometimes when you innovate, you make mistakes. It is best to admit them quickly, and get on with improving your other innovations.

Learn continually. There's always "one more thing" to learn! Cross-pollinate ideas with others both within and outside your company. Learn from customers, competitors and partners. If you partner with someone whom you don't like, learn to like them – praise them and benefit from them. Learn to criticize your enemies openly, but honestly.

The EQ Examination Day!

Yesterday our professor Mr. Randy S. Gamboa give us our preliminary examination. I thought it was just a typical examination that you will answer the question right. Instead he give us an Emotional Quotient Test or simply EQ test. This is a test where we will evaluate ourselves by just choosing A or B which will fit our personality. Amazingly, I got a score of 41 which is Somewhat technoprenuerial. It only means that I have the capacity to become an technoprenuer.
